Careflo™ has training facilities for up to 8 members of staff to be trained in 1 session. We have all the equipment and machinery necessary for practice and familiarity. There is also extensive theory and knowledge-base imparted as well as resource material available through our tailored CQC approved training packs. If there are any courses not listed that we could provide for you, either in-house or hosted, please contact us.

 

MANUAL HANDLING

 

3 day course, covering legislation, practical techniques and teaching methods. The course is designed for people who have to train and/or assess those who are involved in manual handling in the workplace. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.

 

 
 

MOVING & HANDLING

 

Mandatory training for all staff, this half day course identifies good practice with regard to back care, and safe moving and handling techniques. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.

 


REFRESHER DAY

 

Mandatory Training for all staff,  the course covers health & safety, manual handling, fire safety, basic life support and food hygiene. For staff who will require a 6 monthly or annual update by law. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


HEALTH & SAFETY

 

This half day course covers all aspects of Health & Safety including Acts and general responsibilities. Designed for staff who's role is as the permanent 'on-site' officer of the organisation. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


FIRE SAFETY

 

This half day course covers all aspects of Fire Safety awareness. Designed for new staff to organisations and for elected officers to develop their own prevention strategies. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


basic food SAFETY

 

This half day course covers current legislation, identifies the causes of food poisoning by different bacteria and explains preventative measures to be taken to offer a safe food environment. Designed for staff who handle any food in the workplace. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training. 


health & safety in the home

 

This one day course covers all aspects of first aid including theory, practical, diagnosis and treatment. Designed for staff who are required to work alone in individuals own homes. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


first aid awareness

 

This half day course covers the theory of first aid. Designed for staff who are working with suitably qualified individuals and require a basic knowledge of first aid. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


personal safety

 

1 Day course covering 6 modules. Using accredited materials from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Introduction to the facts, listening to yourself, non verbal and verbal communications, travel safely and working safely in other people’s homes. Essential for lone workers and those working in the community wishing to gain self help skills in dealing with difficult situations. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


epilepsy awareness

 

1 Day course designed to raise awareness of the causes, nature and manifestation of epilepsy and how to best support service users who are experiencing seizures. For anyone supporting individuals affected by epilepsy and would like guidance. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


EPILEPSY & emergency treatment

Epilepsy awareness refresher session covering status epilepticus and the administration of rectal diazepam & buccal midazolam. Designed for staff who have the responsibility for administering emergency treatment in relation to epilepsy. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


Diabetes

 

This 1 day course explores what to expect from diabetes and how to support individuals with type 1 & 2 diabetes. Designed for anyone supporting individuals with diabetes. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


Medication Competencies

 

An interactive practically based 1 day course, providing guidance and support in safe storage and administration of medication. Explores all systems as well as individuals who self medicate. Developing and managing risk assessments. A must for staff who administer medication to service users. Serves as a good refresher for qualified staff members. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


supporting & caring for people with dementia

This 1 day course demonstrates the nature and effects of dementia, equipping staff to be able to work effectively with service users who may have dementia.  For staff working alongside people with dementia and their families. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


autism & aspergers

 

This 1 day course defines autism and Aspergers, recognising particular needs of people who fall within the autism/Aspergers spectrum. Designed for anyone supporting individuals with autism or Aspergers and would like guidance. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


assertiveness

 

This 1 day course covers tools and techniques enabling people to become more assertive practitioners. Created for staff to gain skills and knowledge to become more assertive in their daily lives and work. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


active listening

 

A lively half day practical session, demonstrating the importance of listening and how to use skills effectively in the workplace. Whatever your role and wherever you work, this will enhance your skills in the workplace and life in general. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


dealing with difficult people & complaints

A 1 day course exploring the nature and causes of anger and aggression. Demonstrating calming techniques, the importance of feedback and how to handle a complaint efficiently. If you work in a setting where you may be in contact with people who are angry or unhappy with the service they are receiving, the contents of this day are valuable. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


ways to manage stress

 

A practical 1 day course identifying and understanding life stress and how it is caused, you are more able to administer a range of tools and techniques to enable people to cope with stress.  A valuable session whatever your role, managing stress positively. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.


safeguarding vulnerable adults

This half day course Covers SOVA, a Government initiative supporting recent changes in legislation and guidance. Essential for any individuals working with vulnerable adults. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.

 


mental capacity act

 

This half day course covers 5 main principles of the Act; our role as carers, the role of IMCA, Bournewood gap/restriction of liberty, decision making and mentalcapacity checklists. Essential for any individuals working with vulnerable adults, who may or may not lack capacity. Candidates will have materials to use in developing their own training.
